Job summary

Westchester Medical Center is seeking a Coordinator for Perioperative Services (OR Scheduler). The role serves as a liaison among staff, physicians, and departments to ensure optimal care across all age groups while maintaining patient confidentiality.

The individual schedules perioperative procedures, coordinates documentation, and handles scheduling adjustments with good communication and teamwork in a demanding clinical environment.

Qualifications

• Scheduling experience preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with medical records and infection-control policies can be an asset.

Responsibilities

• Answers telephone in a respectful manner and accepts OR bookings.
• Transcribes bookings into the EPIC system for perioperative scheduling.
• Notifies surgeon office of missing documentation.
• Coordinates surgical procedures requiring x-ray examinations and consults with OR Manager on conflicts.
• Adjusts the OR schedule and notifies departments of changes or cancellations.
• Performs clerical tasks such as faxing vendors and filing data.
