Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• One year of Pre Operative or PACU experience required.
• Medical/surgical nursing experience.
• Current state licensure to practice in good standing.
• BLS/BCLS, ACLS and PALS certifications within 90 days of employment (where applicable).

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA Health.
• Assess patient’s preoperative and postoperative status according to policies and procedures.
• Interpret information from monitors.
• Describe pathophysiology of common diseases.
• Apply discharge criteria for patient transfer.
• Develop and implement perianesthesia plan of care.
• Provide perianesthesia care including anesthesia recovery and safety.
• Communicate patient status across the care continuum.
• Administer medications safely following the eight rights.
• Document nursing care completely and accurately.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team and participate in quality improvement.
