Job summary

SCA Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) in PreOp PACU to deliver comprehensive perioperative care across the preoperative and postoperative continuum. You will assess patients, monitor vitals, and collaborate with the surgical team to ensure safety and comfort.

Responsibilities include developing perianesthesia care plans, administering medications safely, and educating patients and families about the perioperative process.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• Current state licensure to practice nursing in the state.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 90 days of employment or current certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 90 days of employment or current certification.
• PALS certification required when pediatric care is within the facility scope (within 90 days).

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA Health.
• Assess preoperative and postoperative status per policy, including cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological, and pain assessment.
• Interpret information from monitors and describe pathophysiology of diseases.
• Develop and implement individualized perianesthesia care plans.
• Provide perioperative care from anesthesia to recovery, including monitoring, safety, pain management, and discharge readiness.
• Communicate patient status during perioperative care and transfer.
• Educate patients and families about expected outcomes and post-discharge care.
• Perform all duties in compliance with facility policies and safety standards.
