Job summary

Springfield Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide care across One Day Surgery, Endoscopy and Recovery. You will apply the Nursing Process to assess, plan, implement, and document patient care while coordinating with the care team.

The role requires an ADN or BSN, Vermont RN license, BLS and ACLS; PALS preferred. Training in de-escalation, sedation, and aseptic technique within specified timelines is expected.

Qualifications

• ADN or BSN from an accredited nursing school.
• Active Vermont RN license in good standing.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.
• PALS preferred.
• De-escalation training required after hire.
• Procedural Sedation within 3 months of hire.
• Aseptic technique within 3 months of hire.
• 6 months nursing experience desirable for specialty areas.

Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) will:

• Provide nursing care to patients following the Scope and Standards of Nursing Practice, within the framework of the Department of Nursing, and in conjunction with Specialty-Specific Standards of Patient Care.
• Utilize the Nursing Process to make nursing judgments and assumes responsibilities for nursing care and documentation to include delegation of work to other levels of employees.
• Ensure practice meets compliance with all applicable State and Federal laws, regulations, and policies governing the provision of health care.

This position will cover in One Day Surgery, Endoscopy and Recovery.

Requirements

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing
• Active Vermont Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing or compact state RN license in good standing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (preferred)
• Basic Dysrhythmia
• De-escalation Training (Required completion at first course offering after hire)
• Procedural Sedation skills (Required within three (3) months of hire)
• Aseptic technique (Required within three (3) months of hire)
• Six (6) months of nursing experience is desirable for specialty areas.
• Nursing Care Knowledge through the lifespan.
• Effective people skills and communication.
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft office products.
• Proficiency in the use of technology in care delivery.

Salary Range: The base rate for this position is $35.13 - $57.64 per hour. The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education and experience of the successful candidate.
