Job summary

Springfield Hospital, Inc. in Vermont seeks a Premium Per Diem Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care in alignment with the Scope and Standards of Nursing Practice. The role involves applying the Nursing Process, making nursing judgments, and documenting care while delegating tasks as appropriate.

Compliance with state and federal regulations is essential. Must complete de-escalation training after hire and obtain procedural sedation and aseptic technique skills within three months.

Qualifications

• Must hold an ADN or BSN from an accredited nursing program.
• Active Vermont RN license in good standing or compact state RN license.
• Current BLS certification; ACLS required; PALS preferred.
• De-escalation training required by first course offering after hire.
• Procedural sedation and aseptic technique skills required within three months of hire.

Description

• Provide nursing care to patients following the Scope and Standards of Nursing Practice, within the framework of the Department of Nursing, and in conjunction with Specialty-Specific Standards of Patient Care.
• Utilize the Nursing Process to make nursing judgments and assumes responsibilities for nursing care and documentation to include delegation of work to other levels of employees.
• Ensure practice meets compliance with all applicable State and Federal laws, regulations, and policies governing the provision of health care.

Premium Per Diem positions requires a minimum of three (3) shifts per week for a unit scheduling with 12-hour shifts and four (4) shifts per week for a unit scheduling with 8-hour shift per week.

Requirements

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing
• Active Vermont Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing or compact state RN license in good standing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (preferred)
• Basic Dysrhythmia
• De-escalation Training (Required completion at first course offering after hire)
• Procedural Sedation skills (Required within three (3) months of hire)
• Aseptic technique (Required within three (3) months of hire)
• Six (6) months of nursing experience is desirable for specialty areas.
• Nursing Care Knowledge through the lifespan.
• Effective people skills and communication.
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft office products.
• Proficiency in the use of technology in care delivery.

Salary Range: The Premium Per Diem role is $65.00 per hour and is not eligible for differential pay (i.e., "per diem", "shift", "weekend" or "holiday").
