Job summary

Western Carolina Surgery Center in Fletcher, NC is seeking a registered nurse to provide preoperative and postoperative care in a busy ambulatory setting. You will assess patients, educate families, administer medications, and support infection control and IV management in collaboration with the surgical team.

The RN must hold an active state license, be graduate of an accredited nursing program, and meet BLS/ACLS/PALS requirements as indicated.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center
• 2 years of experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written

Responsibilities

• Preoperative Duties: Patient Assessment, Education, Medication Administration, Infection Control, IV Line Management, Collaboration with surgical team.
• Postoperative Duties: Recovery Care in PACU, Patient Advocacy, Ongoing Assessment, Medication Management, Documentation, Discharge Planning.
• Additional Job Duty: Performs circulating and/or scrub responsibilities as needed to support surgical procedures and ensure efficient patient care and operating room workflow.
