Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing; Associates degree required, BSN preferred.
• Current licensure in the State of North Carolina or compact multi-state RN license.
• BLS certification through American Heart Association or Red Cross is required upon hire.
• ACLS and PALS certificates must be obtained within 6 months of employment; both preferred on hire.
• A minimum of 1-year perioperative nursing experience in a hospital setting is preferred; 1 year of critical care nursing is required.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide quality patient care according to established standards of care; planning, implementing, evaluating, and adjusting care.
• Collaborates on discharge planning with the care team.
• Adheres to age-specific standards when administering medications and caring for patients across age groups.
• Incorporates developmental and cultural needs into the care plan and demonstrates nursing competency.
• Provides supervision and guidance to team members and may assist the manager in decisions.
• Documents patient care in the chart per standards and participates in performance improvement activities.
