Job summary

Western Carolina Surgery Center is seeking a Full-Time PreOp PACU RN to join our ambulatory surgical team in Fletcher, NC. The role focuses on thorough preoperative assessments, education for patients and families, and precise postoperative care in the PACU.

Collaboration with surgeons and anesthesiologists ensures smooth patient flow from admission to discharge. The position requires active RN licensure in the state, BLS/ACLS (PALS if required), and a minimum of two years in PACU or critical

Qualifications

• Must hold an active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS required; PALS if required by the center
• Minimum 2 years PACU or Critical Care experience preferred
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough preoperative assessments and vital signs collection.
• Educate patients and families on the surgical process, postop care instructions, and preparations.
• Administer prescribed medications per physician orders.
• Maintain infection control and IV lines as required.
• Provide PACU postoperative care and monitor vitals, pain, and well-being.
• Document care provided and patient responses; coordinate discharge planning.
