Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have 1 year preoperative or PACU experience.
• Medical/surgical nursing experience required.
• Current state licensure to practice nursing.
• BLS/BCLS; ACLS within 90 days; PALS if pediatric care is included.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission and values of SCA Health.
• Assess patients pre- and postoperatively per policy, including cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological status and pain management.
• Interpret monitoring data accurately.
• Develop individualized perianesthesia care plans.
• Administer medications safely using the eight rights of medication administration.
• Prepare for and manage patient recovery from anesthesia in various modalities.
• Provide patient and family education and discharge planning.
• Collaborate with the care team to ensure safe and effective perioperative care.
