Job summary

SCA Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the PreOp/PACU phase to support perioperative patients in our Bridgeport, CT facility. You will assess and optimize preoperative and postoperative status, monitor patient conditions, and participate in recovery planning and education.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing with current licensure to practice in the state.
• One year of Pre Operative or PACU experience is required.
• Current BLS/BCLS certification within 90 days of employment or active certification.
• ACLS certification within 90 days of employment is required; PALS may be required if pediatric services are included.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA Health.
• Assess preoperative and postoperative status per policy, including cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological, and pain assessments.
• Interpret information from monitors and describe pathophysiology of diseases.
• Develop and implement an individualized perianesthesia plan of care.
• Administer medications safely using the 8 rights and manage analgesia and wound care.
• Transfer care with accurate hand-off reports and educate patients and families as needed.
• Collaborate with the care team and participate in quality improvement activities.
