Job summary

SCA Health is actively hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for PreOp and PACU roles. You will assess patients preoperatively and postoperatively, monitor cardiovascular and respiratory status, and participate in anesthetic recovery planning.

You will implement individualized care plans and ensure safe, effective recovery across anesthesia modalities. The role requires RN licensure, 1 year of relevant experience, and current BLS/ACLS (PALS if pediatric care is part of the facility scope).

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current RN license.
• One year of preoperative or PACU experience preferred.
• Active state licensure and current BLS/ACLS (PALS if pediatric care is included).

Responsibilities

• Assess preoperative and postoperative status per policy, including cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological, and pain needs.
• Interpret monitors and describe pathophysiology relevant to anesthesia and recovery.
• Develop and implement individualized perianesthesia plans of care.
• Prepare for and manage patient recovery from anesthesia across general, monitored, regional, and local techniques.
• Protect patients from injury, maintain wound and tissue perfusion, and manage fluids/electrolytes.
• Provide patient education and involve families in the rehabilitation process.
• Provide accurate hand-offs and collaborate with the care team.
