Job summary

SCA Health is hiring a Registered Nurse for the PreOp/PACU in Tuscaloosa, AL. You will assess perioperative patients, monitor anesthesia recovery, and develop individualized care plans within a collaborative perioperative team.

Responsibilities include interpreting monitors, managing pain and recovery, and ensuring safe handoffs. Requires Nursing degree, valid RN license, ACLS/BLS, and PACU experience where applicable.

Qualifications

• Experience in Preoperative or PACU settings preferred.
• Ability to monitor and interpret vital signs and anesthesia-related parameters.
• Strong patient advocacy and teamwork across perioperative disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient preoperative and postoperative status per policy.
• Interpret information from monitors and assess airway, cardiovascular and neuro status.
• Develop and implement individualized perianesthesia care plans.
• Provide hand-off reports to the team with concise status updates.
• Delegate tasks in accordance with state nurse practice acts and job descriptions.
• Maintain patient safety and perform medications administration per the 8 rights.
