Job summary

SCA Health in Alabama is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the PreOp PACU to join our anesthesia team. The role focuses on comprehensive preoperative and postoperative assessment, monitoring interpretation, and patient-centered perianesthesia planning.

The successful candidate will develop individualized care plans, ensure safe recovery from anesthesia, and provide clear hand-off communication while adhering to organizational policies and standards, including required certifications.

Qualifications

• Surgical preoperative or PACU experience required.
• State licensure to practice nursing in the relevant state.
• CPR/BLS/BCLS, ACLS within 90 days of employment.
• PALS required if care includes pediatric patients.

Responsibilities

• Assess preoperative and postoperative status per facility policies.
• Interpret noninvasive and invasive monitors accurately.
• Develop an individualized perianesthesia plan of care.
• Communicate patient status during the perianesthesia continuum.
• Provide hand-off reports and educate patients and families.
