Job summary

The Operating Room Nurse uses the nursing process to design, coordinate, and deliver patient care for operative procedures. May act as scrub or circulating nurse and float between UCI Health locations as needed.

Required qualifications include BSN, six months perioperative experience, ability to scrub and circulate in most surgical specialties, and ability to work variable shifts. Licenses include RN and Basic Life Support; preferred CNOR in some cases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
• Six months recent nursing experience in an acute-care perioperative environment.
• Ability to scrub and circulate in most surgical specialties.
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Design, coordinate, and deliver patient care for operative procedures.
• May act as scrub or circulating nurse.
• Float between UCI Health locations as needed.
• Serve as role model to nursing students and new nurses.
