Job summary

UCI Health in Orange, CA is seeking an experienced Operating Room Nurse to join our perioperative team. You will use the nursing process to design, coordinate, and deliver patient care for operative procedures, serving as scrub or circulating nurse as needed and may float to multiple locations.

The role requires BSN, RN license, and six months of perioperative nursing experience in acute care. ADN candidates may apply if enrolled in a BSN program with anticipated completion within two years.

Qualifications

• Must float to all locations of UCI Health as needed.
• Minimum of six months recent nursing experience in an acute-care perioperative environment.
• ADN candidate with enrollment in BSN program and anticipated completion within 2 years.
• Demonstrated knowledge of aseptic technique, surgical instrumentation and equipment, and infection control techniques, body mechanics and age related acuity levels
• All external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to scrub and circulate in most surgical specialties

Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative nursing care and coordinate patient care.
• Serve as scrub or circulating nurse in various procedures.
• Act as a role model to nursing students and new nurses on the unit.
• May float to all locations of UCI Health as needed.
