Job summary

The role requires a BSN, six months perioperative experience, and flexibility to float between UCI Health locations. Shifts include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Required to float to all locations of UCI Health as needed.
• Minimum of six months recent nursing experience in an acute-care perioperative environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of aseptic technique, surgical instrumentation, infection control, body mechanics and age-related acuity levels.
• All external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to scrub and circulate in most surgical specialties.

Responsibilities

• The Operating Room Nurse uses the nursing process to design, coordinate and deliver patient care for operative procedures.
• May act as scrub or circulating nurse in various procedures.
• Acts as a role model to nursing students and new nurses on the unit.
