Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking an experienced OR Nurse for the CVOR department. The role provides professional nursing care for patients undergoing surgical procedures in the operating suite.

The position requires scrub and circulating duties, patient monitoring, and direct assistance to the surgeon, including hemostasis and suturing. Schedule is 6am–3pm, Monday–Friday, with rotating calls; the work location is UAB St. Vincent's East.

Qualifications

• RN skilled in surgical/operative care.
• Experience with scrub and circulating roles preferred.
• Ability to assist physicians with surgical tasks and wound exposure.

Responsibilities

• Deliver professional nursing care in the operative setting.
• Perform scrub functions: instrument handling and preparation.
• Perform circulating duties: monitor, record, and communicate patient condition.
• Assist operating physician with hemostasis, suturing and wound exposure; help with patient positioning.
• Prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments/equipment for use.
