Job summary

MedStar Health’s Washington Hospital Center is seeking a Nurse Manager to cover Perioperative services, including sports medicine, orthopedics, joint, spine, gynecology, pediatric dental and general surgical cases.

This Director of Nursing role provides 24-hour administrative leadership for the defined units, guiding clinical operations, budgeting, and collaboration with Medical Staff and other departments to uphold the organization’s mission and standards.

Qualifications

BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing required.
Prior Clinical Nursing Manager or Assistant Nurse Manager Experience required.
Active MD RN License or Active Compact State RN and Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers required.

Responsibilities

Oversee one or more defined units/departments of organized nursing and patient care services.
Assume 24-hour administrative and leadership authority for management and direction of operational personnel and financial activities.
Coordinate with nursing leadership, Medical Staff and other departments to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and MedStar Health values.
