Job summary

SCA Health is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) in the PreOp/PACU role to support our ambulatory surgical centers. You will assess patients before and after surgery, interpret monitors, and develop individualized care plans.

The role emphasizes safety, timely recovery, and collaboration with the surgical team. Qualified candidates hold an accredited nursing degree, current licensure, and BLS; ACLS and PALS are expected within specified timelines.

Qualifications

Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
One year of Pre Operative or PACU experience required.
Medical / surgical nursing experience.
Current state licensure to practice within good standings.
Successful completion of BLS/BCLS within 90 days of employment.
ACLS within 90 days of employment.
PALS if pediatric care is included within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA Health.
Assess preoperative and postoperative status per policy, including cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological, hemodynamic, pain and mental status.
Interpret information from monitors and describe disease pathophysiology.
Apply perioperative discharge scoring and develop an individualized plan of care.
Manage recovery from anesthesia and ensure patient safety during transfer and transport.
Document nursing care accurately and communicate status to the team.
Collaborate with disciplines and participate in quality improvement.
