Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• One year of Pre Operative or PACU experience is required.
• Current state licensure to practice nursing in good standing.
• BLS or BCLS certification within 90 days of employment.
• ACLS certification within 90 days of employment.
• PALS certification is required if pediatric care is included in the facility scope.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA.
• Assess preoperative and postoperative status per policy, including cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological, and hemodynamic function.
• Interpret information from monitors and discharge scoring systems.
• Develop an individualized perioperative plan of care and implement it.
• Manage patient recovery from anesthesia and ensure safety and comfort.
• Provide patient education and involve family in the care plan.
• Transfer care and provide concise hand-off reports to teammates.
