Job summary

The University of Utah seeks a Nurse Practitioner/APRN to support high‑risk surgical patients in both the Pre-operative Clinic and the Transitional Pain Service. You will work with anesthesiology to prepare patients for surgery, perform histories and physicals, and manage perioperative pain plans.

Responsibilities include coordinating care across pain service, anesthesia, and surgical teams, ordering tests, and educating patients and families.

Qualifications

• Licensure to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in Utah.
• ACLS/BLS/NRP/ATLS may be required by department or privileging criteria.
• Utah prescriptive privileges and Master's degree with national certification.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ physical condition and histories in pre-operative and TPS settings.
• Develop and implement individualized perioperative pain management plans.
• Coordinate care with pain service, anesthesia, and surgical teams.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests when needed to optimize patient care.
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation in medical records.
