Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing from a state-approved school.
• 2 years in management or nursing leadership in the perioperative area.
• 4 years experience as an OR RN.
• Strong critical and strategic thinking, analytical and planning skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Values diversity and teamwork.
• Demonstrates integrity; is ethical in conduct and decision making.
• Demonstrates initiative, creativity and flexibility and is tolerant of change.
• Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office as well as Internet access and utilization.

Responsibilities

• Oversee recruitment, hiring and training of staff and develop departmental goals.
• Lead and participate in educational activities and curricula development.
• Collaborate with nursing leadership to promote quality patient care and safety.
• Facilitate orientation and ongoing competency validation for staff.
• Support evidence-based educational materials and learning plans.
• Engage in performance improvement and budget planning for the unit.
