Job summary

Keck Medicine of USC is seeking a perioperative Registered Nurse to design, coordinate, and deliver patient care across preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative phases. You will support patient safety, documentation, and handoff communications using SBAR in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Requirements include a BSN, 1 year OR experience in acute care, 2 years outpatient surgery experience, and active RN licensure in California with BLS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) is required.
• Minimum 1 year OR nursing experience in acute care setting.
• Minimum 2 years recent outpatient surgery experience.
• Excellent communication skills in English (read, write, speak).
• Knowledge of medical procedures and policy adherence.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Universal Patient Safety Goals in all practice areas.
• Maintains sterile technique and infection control standards.
• Documents care, charges and implants accurately and timely.
• Coordinates with perioperative team to ensure patient flow.
• Supports change decisions and advocates for optimal plan of care.
• Ensures safety for electrical/laser/radiology and intraoperative MRI.
