Job summary

Yale NewHaven Health is seeking a Perioperative Scheduling and Registration Coordinator to lead front-line patient coordination in Perioperative Services. The role emphasizes accurate scheduling, registration, and communication with patients, families, and clinicians.

You will supervise staff, manage daily workflows, ensure HIPAA compliance, and support OR leadership. The position requires hospital experience, strong interpersonal skills, and a commitment to service excellence.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Three+ years in a hospital environment with customer service, clerical, registration or scheduling.
• Experience managing high-volume telephone calls preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, leadership and training abilities.
• Ability to multitask and reprioritize amidst volume fluctuations.
• Strong written and verbal communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate staff work activities to maintain daily workflow and scheduling.
• Assume in-charge responsibilities during absences and outside hours as needed.
• Maintain and review training materials; ensure mandatory trainings are met.
• Prepare weekly schedules and adjust staffing for illness or events.
• Provide excellent customer service and positive patient interactions.
• Operate registration, admit, and scheduling processes with attention to HIPAA.
• Collaborate with OR leadership and scheduling to coordinate perioperative operations.
