Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a patient care assistant (PCA II) for Perioperative Services in Worcester. The role involves assisting with patient care under RN supervision, preparing operating rooms, and supporting PACU and SACU workflows.

The position requires PCA or EMT certification and BLS, plus one year of nursing procedure experience. Responsibilities include vital signs, patient transport, room turnover, and collaboration with the health care team to ensure patient comfort and safety

Qualifications

• Equivalent to high school education.
• PCA or EMT certification.
• Knowledge of basic Nursing Procedures.
• Current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care per department policies.
• Assist in room preparation and turnover to maintain patient flow and readiness.
• Transport patients, equipment, supplies, and specimens following safety standards.
• Maintain peripheral corridors per fire and safety guidelines.
