Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester, MA seeks a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) Float Pool) to support licensed clinicians and deliver compassionate care across units. Under the direction of licensed staff, you’ll assist with personal care, monitor patients, and help maintain a safe, clean environment while responding to patient needs.

The role includes taking vital signs, assisting with mobility, preparing supplies, and supporting procedures as directed.

Qualifications

• Under the direction of the appropriate licensed clinician, provides patient care to meet the personal needs and comfort of patients.
• Keeps patients safe and comfortable by assisting with daily living activities and maintaining a clean, safe environment.
• Observes and reports changes in patients' status to the RN or clinician.

Responsibilities

• Provides clear, timely communication to the RN regarding observations and changes in patients.
• Assists patient with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, ambulating, meals and nourishment.
• Performs vital signs and records measurements as directed.
• Assists in moving, lifting, positioning and transporting patients using proper safety techniques.
• Maintains patient safety by performing safety checks and following policy standards.
