Job summary

Brown University Health seeks a Director of Perianesthesia Care Services to oversee PAT, Hold & Prep, and PACU across Rhode Island Hospital and affiliated units. The role drives unified care pathways, aligns workflows, and leads a multidisciplinary team to improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities include strategic leadership, staff development, and ensuring compliance with Joint Commission and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university.
Master’s degree in nursing or a related field such as healthcare administration.
RN licensure in Rhode Island or equivalent.
AHA BLS and ACLS certifications.
Preferred certifications: CNOR, CPAN, CAPA, NE-BC or CENP; Lean Six Sigma for process improvement.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership and direction for PAT, Hold & Prep, and PACU departments.
Supervise and develop clinical managers, nurses, and staff across departments.
Foster collaboration and continuous improvement for patient-centered care.
Ensure regulatory compliance and readiness for inspections and audits.
Lead integration of pre-admission testing, anesthesia handoff, and post-operative recovery.
