Job summary

University of Richmond's Modlin Center seeks a Concessions Associate to manage the sales area, sell merchandise and concessions before, during, and after performances, and coordinate with artists' representatives. You will set up the concessions, track inventory, and settle sales reports with staff.

This part-time, on-site role requires independence, strong customer service, and a flexible schedule, including daytime and evening/weekend hours.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work in a collaborative environment.
• Flexible schedule including daytime and evening/weekend hours.
• Independent problem-solving skills with quick, efficient solutions.
• Detail oriented, particularly in respect to safety and patron service.
• Must be at least 21 for concessions sales (or 20 1/2) and 18 for merchandise sales.

Responsibilities

• Set-up sales area 2 hours before each performance, be prepared for sales to start 1 hour prior to performance.
• Sell concessions before, during, and after performances.
• Communicate with artists/artists’ management and Modlin staff for instructions.
• Obtain merchandise from the artist’s representative.
• Settle up with Modlin staff and artist’s representative at end of sales shift.
• Display concessions in a neat and visually pleasing manner.
• Know prices of each item being sold.
• Keep track of how much of each item is sold and maintain a written sales sheet.
• Assist training of new concessions associates as needed.
