Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health in Boardman, OH is seeking a per diem Stepdown Registered Nurse to provide patient care using the nursing process. The RN will collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team, coordinate care, and educate patients and families.

The role requires an active RN license, 1 year of RN experience (new grads considered) and BLS; ACLS preferred at hire. Per diem hours: 24 in 6 weeks; self-scheduling available.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state you will work in.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; ACLS preferred at hire, ACLS within 6 months.
• Preferred CCRN, PCCN, NIH Stroke certification listed as optional.
• BSN preferred; significant clinical practice requested or new grads considered with supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments and update plan of care.
• Administer medications safely per policy and state practice acts.
• Coordinate patient care across hospital departments and with families.
• Advocate for patient safety and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Provide patient education and support within the care plan.
• Monitor patients with complex conditions and respond to changing status.
• Use nursing process to guide evidence-based actions and clinical judgment.

Education

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
