Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Per Diem Registered Nurse (RN) for the Intensive Care Unit at RWJ Hamilton. The role requires an active New Jersey RN license with BLS, ACLS, and PALS, and 1–2 years of ICU experience. A BSN is preferred, with ASN/diploma acceptable, and EPIC EMR experience is a plus.

The position offers day shifts with rotating weekends/holidays in a collaborative care setting, focusing on safe, high-quality patient care and opportunities for growth within RWJBarnabas Health.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license in good standing.
• Current BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications.
• 1–2 years ICU/Acute Care experience.
• BSN preferred; ASN/diploma required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments in the ICU and recognize subtle changes, intervening early.
• Administer safe medications and evidence-based treatments with strong clinical judgment.
• Collaborate with physicians and providers to support timely, well-coordinated care decisions.
• Provide clear, compassionate education to patients and families about care plans.
• Document accurately and timely in EPIC EMR to promote continuity and safety.
• Contribute to interdisciplinary rounds to improve communication and transitions of care.
• Engage in a highly collaborative team culture and support long-term career growth.
• Pursue continuing education and leverage organizational resources for professional progression.
