Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Per Diem Physical Therapist Assistant to perform treatment and provide exercise instruction and patient education to improve well-being, following the established plan of care.

Responsibilities include implementing therapy plans, educating patients and families, and coordinating with the health team in home care settings. Applicants must hold current PTA licensure and be able to work a weekend rotation. CPR is a preferred qualification.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Available to work a weekend rotation.

Responsibilities

• Follow all state laws governing the provision of physical therapy in home care and follow the treatment plan defined by the supervising PT.
• Instructs and aids patients in active and passive exercise, gait, ADL, transfers, and mobility.
• Observe, record, and report patient response and changes to the supervising PT and care team; coordinate care accordingly.
• Instructs patient, family, caregiver and health team in therapy within PTA scope.
• Provide care in home settings irrespective of patient demographics.
