Job summary

CHRISTUS Good Shepherd HomeCare in Texas is seeking a Per Diem Physical Therapist Assistant to perform treatments, provide exercise instruction and patient education according to the plan of care.

You will follow state laws, assist with gait, ADL, transfers, and coordinate with the healthcare team in home care.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current driver's license, vehicle insurance, and access to dependable transportation (implicit in home health)
• Available to work a weekend rotation

Responsibilities

• Follow state laws governing home care physical therapy and implement the plan of care under supervision.
• Instruct patients in active and passive exercises, gait, ADL, and transfer training
• Observe and report patient responses; coordinate care with healthcare team
• Educate patient, family, and caregivers within scope of physical therapy
• Function effectively in diverse home environments and populations
