Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy certificate through NAACLS or equivalent with internship showing 100 venipunctures.
• In lieu of internship, 6 months phlebotomy experience may be considered.
• In lieu of phlebotomy certification, 5+ years direct phlebotomy experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and collect specimens via venipuncture or fingerstick.
• Verify patient identification and document properly.
• Prepare specimens for transport and logging in LIS.
• Communicate with nursing staff and technologists about specimen issues.
• Maintain clean, stocked phlebotomy area and follow safety procedures.
