Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our Portsmouth, VA team. This per diem/casual role will require collecting blood samples from patients of all ages, entering data accurately, and assisting with billing when needed.

Travel to additional sites is required as business needs dictate. Ideal candidates hold a phlebotomy certification or have completed training, or have 6+ months of phlebotomy experience, with a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification or completed Phlebotomy training program or 6 months’ or more experience as a phlebotomist.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner.
• Process billing information and collect payments when required.
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to all patients.
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.
