Job summary

Labcorp in Chesapeake, VA is seeking a Phlebotomist to provide skilled specimen collection and exceptional patient service in a Patient Service Center. You will perform venipuncture, handle specimens, and ensure accurate data entry while delivering friendly patient care.

The role offers a Monday–Thursday 7:30am–4:30pm schedule with rotating Saturdays. A high school diploma and phlebotomy certification or training (or 6+ months experience) are required; 1 year of phlebotomy is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program or 6 months’ or more experience as a phlebotomist.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner.
• Process billing information and collect payments when required.
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to all patients.
