Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a phlebotomist to join our team in Portsmouth, VA. This per diem/casual position will have hours as needed, not to exceed 19 hours per week.

Responsibilities include blood collection, data entry, and specimen processing, with travel to additional sites as needed. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma and phlebotomy certification or training, or 6 months of experience. Pay range listed; benefits availability varies by schedule.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include high school diploma or equivalent and phlebotomy certification or training, or 6+ months as a phlebotomist.
• Phlebotomy certification or training is preferred.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for various tests including drug screens and alcohol tests.
• Enter patient information accurately and timely in the system.
• Process billing information and collect payments when required.
• Prepare specimens for testing and maintain logs.
• Provide exceptional customer service and travel to additional sites as needed.
