Job summary

Concord Hospital is seeking a Transporter to provide direct patient care and transportation under RN guidance. You will assess mobility, ensure correct transport mode, and assist patients to beds, stretchers, or wheelchairs, while handling oxygen, Foley bags and IV pumps.

You will also transport equipment, records, specimens, meals, and supplies, and act as a dispatcher and liaison for resources. Strong critical thinking, safety practices, and teamwork are essential to success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• AHA Heartsaver CPR AED certification within 3 months of hire.
• Experience working effectively with patients and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to assist patients and transport equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance to nursing and transports patients to designated hospital areas.
• Transports medical equipment, medical records, lab specimens, meal trays and materials; safeguards privacy and stability of specimens.
• Serves as fill-in dispatcher; uses critical thinking to meet patient care needs efficiently.
• Acts as primary liaison between team resources and customers; manages day-to-day operations.
• Demonstrates effective time management and adherence to safe patient handling policies.
• Maintains clean, safe environment with stocked supplies and functioning equipment.
• Assists nursing with basic patient care.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
