Job summary

Health First is seeking a Clinical Transporter to support safe and efficient transportation of patients and equipment within hospitals. You will work as part of the patient transport team, delivering courteous, timely service and ensuring proper handoffs with nursing staff.

Responsibilities include moving patients by stretcher or wheelchair, documenting transport details, using PPE, and adhering to HIPAA and hospital policies. Per Diem schedule with variable shift times is available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current American Heart Association BLS healthcare provider card required and maintained annually.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently and with limited supervision.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, stressful environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate safe, efficient movement of patients and equipment using stretchers, wheelchairs, beds, and cribs.
• Assist in transfers between bed, stretcher, and wheelchair while maintaining courteous, professional service.
• Record transport details accurately using TeleTracking and report necessary information.
• Follow PPE usage, HIPAA, OSHA, and Health First policies and procedures.
• Deliver outstanding customer service and maintain respectful relationships with all stakeholders.
• Safely operate stretcher and wheelchair; report equipment issues to supervisor.
• Apply Tele Pak Monitor as required and verify patient rhythm with monitoring staff.
• Perform hand hygiene before and after each patient contact.
• Ensure proper handoff communication with RN at origin and destination.
