Job summary

Optum, in partnership with ProHealth Care, is seeking a Per Diem Associate Patient Care Coordinator in Mukwonago, WI. Responsibilities include patient registration, scheduling, insurance verification, and payment processing in hospital and medical group settings.

Training will be 6-8 weeks with shifts per pay period; office located at 240 Maple Ave. The role emphasizes strong customer service, EMR use, and collaboration with care teams to ensure a positive patient experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 2+ years of customer service experience in a medical/healthcare environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to work per diem across shifts to support a 24-hour operation.
• Must be able to commute to 240 Maple Ave, Mukwonago, WI.
• Access to reliable transportation and a valid US driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Complete patient registration, verify demographics and insurance, and maintain accurate patient records.
• Provide exceptional customer service, answer phones, respond to patient inquiries, and communicate delays.
• Schedule and coordinate appointments following provider protocols and patient needs.
• Collect copays and balances, process payments, and reconcile cash transactions.
• Route patient concerns and clinical communications to the care team and support staff.
• Utilize EMR and other systems to support patient access and operations.
• Maintain an organized reception area and monitor patient flow.
