Job summary

Always Compassionate Health is seeking an Occupational Therapist to evaluate and treat upper-extremity conditions, emphasizing function and independence. The role involves developing individualized plans, fabricating splints, and monitoring progress to optimize outcomes.

The candidate should hold an NY OT license; a Master’s degree is preferred, with CHT eligibility or credential preferred. This per diem opportunity supports flexible scheduling and professional growth within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Active New York State Occupational Therapist license required.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher; master’s degree preferred.
• Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) credential preferred, or eligibility and plans to sit for the CHT exam.
• Strong splinting and custom orthotic fabrication skills.
• Minimum of one year of Occupational Therapy experience preferred.
• Excellent clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Independently evaluate and treat post-surgical and non-surgical orthopedic upper-extremity conditions.
• Develop individualized treatment plans to improve strength, mobility, function and independence.
• Fabricate custom splints and orthotics for post-surgical and non-operative injuries.
• Monitor progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Communicate effectively with patients, physicians and healthcare professionals.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to promote positive patient outcomes.
