Qualifications

• Active New York State OT license required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive OT evaluations for upper-extremity conditions.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Provide interventions to improve strength, ROM, dexterity, and functional performance.
• Fabricate, fit, and modify custom splints/orthoses post-op.
• Monitor progress, reassess outcomes, and adjust plans as needed.
• Educate patients on exercises, splint management, and home programs.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to coordinate care.
• Maintain compliant clinical documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations for patients with surgical and non-surgical orthopedic conditions affecting the upper extremities.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical assessments, patient needs, and functional goals.
• Provide therapeutic interventions to improve strength, range of motion, coordination, dexterity, and functional performance.
• Fabricate, fit, and modify custom splints and orthoses for post‑operative recovery and non-surgical orthopedic management.
• Monitor patient progress, reassess functional outcomes, and adjust treatment plans as clinically appropriate.
• Educate patients on therapeutic exercises, joint protection strategies, adaptive techniques, splint management, and home exercise programs.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and optimize patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation in accordance with professional standards and applicable regulations.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Active New York State Occupational Therapist license required.
• Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited Occupational Therapy program; a master's degree is preferred.
• Strong clinical experience in upper extremity rehabilitation, orthopedic occupational therapy, and post‑operative care.
• Demonstrated proficiency in custom splint fabrication, orthotic fitting, and splint modification.
• At least one year of occupational therapy experience preferred.
• Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) credential preferred. Candidates who meet the eligibility requirements and intend to pursue CHT certification are encouraged to apply.
• Excellent clinical reasoning, assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Additional relevant clinical certifications are a plus.
