Job summary

Always Compassionate Health is seeking dedicated Occupational Therapists for per diem opportunities in Suffolk County, Long Island, NY. You will evaluate and treat upper extremity conditions, design personalized plans, fabricate splints, and work closely with a healthcare team to improve function and independence.

The role requires NY licensure, a OT degree (master’s preferred), and strong hand-therapy skills. Flexible scheduling and supportive teamwork are highlighted in this role.

Qualifications

• Active New York State Occupational Therapist license required.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Occupational Therapy; master’s degree preferred.
• Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) credential preferred, or eligibility and plans to sit for the CHT examination in the near future.
• Strong splinting and custom orthotic fabrication skills.
• Minimum of one year of Occupational Therapy experience preferred.
• Excellent clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Independently evaluate and treat post-surgical and non-surgical orthopedic conditions affecting the upper extremity.
• Develop individualized treatment plans to improve strength, mobility, function, and independence.
• Fabricate custom splints and orthotics for post-surgical conditions and non-operative injuries.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and healthcare professionals.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to promote positive patient outcomes.
