Job summary

Carson Valley Health in Gardnerville, NV is seeking a Surgery RN to provide perioperative nursing care as part of our operating room team. Per diem status adds 15% to hourly rate; schedule is as-needed.

The role requires graduation from an accredited school of nursing, current NV Nursing license, and BLS/ACLS; PALS within 90 days for Pre/Post Anesthesia Unit. You will assess patients, prepare for surgery, and collaborate with the anesthesia team.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current NV Nursing license.
• BLS and ACLS; PALS required for Pre/Post Anesthesia Unit (within 90 days).
• Proven proficiency in acute care nursing, knowledge, and skills.

Responsibilities

• Assesses and diagnoses patient and family needs to provide quality care.
• Verifies patient identity, operative procedure, site, surgeon, consents, allergies, NPO status, and voided status.
• Assesses psychological status and anxiety level related to surgery.
• Obtains pre-operative medical history and documents in patient records.
• Reviews current charts with the Anesthesiologist as necessary.
