Job summary

Reno Orthopedic Center in Reno, NV is seeking a Per Diem Pre-OP/PACU Registered Nurse to support our surgical team at the Main location, 555 N. Arlington Ave.

You will educate patients about procedures, medications and what to expect in surgery, and collaborate with anesthesia and nursing staff to ensure safe, efficient care. The ideal candidate holds an active Nevada RN license, BLS, ACLS, and PALS, with at least one year of nursing experience, preferably in perioperative or PACU settings.

Qualifications

• One year of nursing experience.
• Experience in pre-op/PACU preferred.
• Strong patient communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Explain and ensure patients understand procedures, medications, and what to expect in surgery.
• Monitor patients undergoing local anesthesia per policy.
• Accurately document care and patient responses in the EMR.
• Assist in transferring patients between beds and stretchers as needed.
• Identify risks to patient safety and respond appropriately.
• Know emergency procedures and locate emergency equipment.
