Job summary

Carson Valley Health in Gardnerville, NV seeks an experienced Surgery RN for per diem coverage. You will provide perioperative nursing care, function as scrub/circulating nurse, and support anesthesia teams in the operating room.

Per diem status adds 15% to hourly rate; some shifts on an as-needed basis, with focus on patient safety, documentation, and teamwork. Responsibilities include pre-op assessment, intraoperative care, sterile technique, and post-operative guidance while maintaining

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• NV Nursing license current.
• BLS, ACLS; PALS within 90 days.
• Proficiency in acute care nursing and effective communication.
• Ability to communicate, initiative, maturity, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Assesses and diagnoses patient and family needs to provide quality care.
• Verification of patient identity, operative procedure, site, surgeon, consents, allergies, NPO status and voiding schedule.
• Assesses psychological status, understanding of surgery and anxiety level.
• Obtains pre-operative history and documents in patient record per policy.
• Checks current history, physical, orders, and results; reviews chart with Anesthesiologist.
