Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking an RN for the Surgical Unit-I at RWJUH Hamilton Hospital. The role offers night shifts, weekly 36 hours, and a strong support system focused on safety and growth. You will perform assessments, administer care, and collaborate with physicians to drive effective patient outcomes.

Active NJ RN license, BLS/ACLS, and acute care experience are preferred. A BSN is strongly preferred with potential for professional advancement within the system.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license in good standing.
• Current BLS and ACLS certification.
• ASN or Nursing diploma required; BSN preferred within five years of hire.
• Prior acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize changes, intervening when needed.
• Provide safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands-on care.
• Serve as a clinical partner to physicians and providers for coordinated care decisions.
• Educate patients and families clearly so they are informed and supported.
• Document accurately in the EMR to promote continuity and safety.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and collaborative teamwork.
• Pursue ongoing professional growth through education and ladder opportunities.
