RWJBarnabas Health's Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, NJ is seeking a Per Diem Night RN for Behavioral Health/Short Term Care. The position supports 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.

shifts with three shifts per month in a per diem schedule. The RN will perform comprehensive assessments, administer care and medications, document in EPIC EMR, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, compassionate patient care while pursuing ongoing professional growth within RWJBarnabas

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing or Multistate RN license with NJ endorsement.
• American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing strongly preferred.
• 2+ years of Behavioral Health experience preferred.
• Experience with EPIC EMR is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize clinical changes, intervening early.
• Administer safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands-on care.
• Serve as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers to support timely care decisions.
• Provide clear, compassionate education to patients and families.
• Ensure accurate documentation in the EMR for continuity and safety.
• Contribute to interdisciplinary rounds and care transitions.
• Work in a collaborative team environment with shared accountability.
• Pursue ongoing professional growth through continuing education and career progression.
