RWJBarnabas Health's Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, NJ is seeking a Per Diem Night RN for Behavioral Health/Short Term Care. The position supports 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.

shifts with three shifts per month in a per diem schedule. The RN will perform comprehensive assessments, administer care and medications, document in EPIC EMR, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, compassionate patient care while pursuing ongoing professional growth within RWJBarnabas

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing or Multistate RN license with NJ endorsement.
• American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing strongly preferred.
• 2+ years of Behavioral Health experience preferred.
• Experience with EPIC EMR is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize clinical changes, intervening early.
• Administer safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands-on care.
• Serve as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers to support timely care decisions.
• Provide clear, compassionate education to patients and families.
• Ensure accurate documentation in the EMR for continuity and safety.

To be considered for this RN opportunity

You must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing or Multistate RN License with NJ Endorsement and a current American Heart Association BLS certification. A Bachelor's degree in Nursing is strongly preferred, as is prior patient care experience and comfort with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC. Experienced required with Behavioral Health Adult population with a minimum of (2) years experience. This position offers a per diem night schedule from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. and (3) three shifts per month (1) weekend shift, (2)shifts Mon-Fri, (1) Winter Holiday and (1) Summer holiday is required. Schedule during the week will vary depending on department needs, allowing you to build strong patient relationships while maintaining balance.
