Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Per Diem Registered Nurse (RN) for the Intensive Care Unit at Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville, NJ. This night shift role offers opportunities to provide high-level critical care and contribute to a patient-centered team.

The RN will perform comprehensive assessments, administer care, and ensure accurate documentation in EPIC. Per diem schedule involves 2–3 night shifts monthly, including weekends and holidays, in a supportive, safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license in good standing.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• CCRN certification and BSN preferred.
• Experience with EMRs (EPIC) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle clinical changes, intervening early.
• Administer safe, evidence-based medications and hands-on care.
• Collaborate with physicians and advanced providers to ensure timely, well-coordinated care decisions.
• Educate patients and families clearly, ensuring they feel informed and prepared for next steps.
• Document accurately in the electronic medical record to promote continuity and safety.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds to improve communication and transitions of care.
• Thrive in a highly collaborative team with shared accountability and continuous improvement.
