Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in the United States seeks a skilled Interventional Radiology support professional to assist physicians, manage procedural rooms, and ensure patient safety and accurate documentation.

The role involves preparing the room, handling sterile techniques, operating imaging equipment, and coordinating inventory while complying with regulatory standards and CQI initiatives.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years’ related experience desirable.
• 1 year experience preferred for Candidates with ARRT.
• Knowledge and experience of sterile techniques.
• Knowledge of universal precautions and personal protective devices to be utilized when operating radiology systems.
• Successfully complete BLS certification.
• Experience with monitoring and maintaining inventory.
• Proficient in the use of computers and related software such as Microsoft Office (Word & Excel).

Responsibilities

• Performs preparation of patient and procedure room for radiology procedures.
• Reviews orders to determine materials and supplies needed.
• Sets up and stocks procedure room and trays, cleans room post procedure.
• Explains procedure to patient and addresses questions.
• Assists with preparing patient for surgical procedures including positioning and prepping.
• Performs patient transfers and transports to/from procedure room.
• Inputs patient data into C-Arm system.
• Acts as scrub assistant and assists physician during interventional procedures.
• Maintains HIPAA compliance with patient confidentiality.
• Draws up and labels intravenous medications.
• Processes x-ray images and archives records.
• Supports CQI and quality standards.
• Maintains medical records accuracy and audits.
• Maintains environmental integrity and safety of equipment.
• Assists with inventory and ordering of supplies.
• Acts as Radiation Safety Officer and monitors radiation badges.

Education

High School Diploma required; Associate’s Degree desirable; Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred

ARRT Certification and/or State Licensure

Interventional Radiology certificate preferred
